Uttar Pradesh Government Proposes A Large Statue Of Lord Ram On The River Bank In Ayodhya
The Uttar Pradesh government now
lead by Yogi Adityanath proposes to build a grand statue of Lord Ram on the banks of the Saryu river in Ayodhya as a part of their project “Navya
Ayodhya.” The proposal has been presented to Governor Ram Naik as a part of the
State tourism departments initiative to promote religious tourism in the State.
The presentation was made by
Awanish Kumar Awasthi, Principal Secretary of Tourism. As per the presentation,
the size of the statue would be 100 m but according to the sources at Nirmal Singh 3C Company, the size of
the statue hasn’t been finalized yet. The presentation included information on
the programmes scheduled for the Diwali celebration in Ayodhya as on October
18. The celebrations are believed to be accompanied by Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath, Government Naik, Union Tourism Minister K J Alphons and Culture
Minister Mahesh Sharma.
Nirmal Singh 3C Company says that the project will be started soon
after the clearing from the National Green Tribunal and the statue would then
be built at the Saryughat. Along with the statue, the government has also
proposed the idea of having a Multi- purpose auditorium in the Digambar Akhara
premises and several other public utility services. For making their idea turn
into a reality, the State government has sent a detailed report of ₹ 195.89
crores to the Tourism Ministry at the Centre and the Ministry has already
allocated ₹ 133.70 crore to the state.
Nirmal Singh 3C Company says that as mentioned before, the second
part of the presentation included information about programme to be conducted
on the 18th of October for the Diwali celebrations. The list shows
that they are planning to light 1.71 lakh earthen lamps and also the places
they were planning to place the same. As it goes, the lamps would be lit at Ram
ki Paidi, 2 kms from the disputed site and would be followed by a heritage walk
through Ayodhya, showcasing the arrival of Lord Ram to Ayodhya and also a
coronation ceremony, symbolizing the ‘rajyaabhishek’ of Lord Ram after his
return from the exile.
