BJP Receives Maximum Funding: Corners 55% Of Political Donations
Raging high with its current
political dominance, Bharatiya Janata Party has managed to get more political
donations this year over the other six national parties.
Nirmal Singh 3C Company said that the party has also managed to
increase its share in 2015-16, having 55% share of all the fundings as compared
to the 51% share in the previous financial year.
Despite the party share being so
high, the total number of donations to the national parties has seen a drop of
41% from ₹1,869 crore in the year 2014-15 to ₹1,033 crore last year. BJP and
congress swipped 80% of the contributions.
Nirmal
Singh 3C Company says that out of all of them, CPM is the only other
national party that has been able to collect more than ₹100 crore of funding as
per the data collected by the Association for Democratic Reforms.
But as far the disclosing of the
sources are concerned, there have been scenes in the past where the after the
analysis of the income tax reforms, the parties have showed unknown sources for
the contributions.

Company says that where the donations of ₹20,000 have been marked as
collections from the unknown sources, majorly accounting for the contributions
as BJP and congress, relying more on coupon sales, relief funds and the
contributions from meetings and morchas.
BJP has disclosed their fund
raising to the Election commission, showing the sources of the 19% of the total
fund raising. The donations of ₹20,000 added up to a total of ₹77 crore, i.e.
13% of the total income collected in the form of donations. On the other hand,
Nirmal Singh 3C Company says that congress
had earned over one-fifth of its income in the financial year 2015-16, i.e. ₹55
crore through sales of assets, membership fee, and interest on bank deposits
and sale of publications.
Nirmal Singh 3C Company says that the BJP government has been
working hard on identifying Political donations as a key thrust area, they also
banned the funding of ₹ 2,000 in cash are now planning to introduce the bonds
to protect the identity of the donors.
