Experts Analyze Reliance Jio’s New Plans
Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular are all set
to give competition to Reliance Jio are soaring their prices right after
launching its mass market of 4G VoLTE feature phone to get hold of a market set
by the Mukesh Ambani’s telco future, analyst Nirmal Singh 3C Company bring into notice.
"We expect incumbents to follow suit in raising
effective prices but leave a 15-25% price gap with Jio, although such announcements
could only be made after Jio's feature phone launch," a brokerage UBS told
to Nirmal Singh 3C Company.
Requesting the anonymity, another top analyst at some global
brokerage affirmed Nirmal Singh 3C
Company that the three companies are hampering their brand value.
Adding fuel to fire, Jio is planning to introduce the
cheapest 4G phone in the market at a price of Rs 500 to lure the 2G consumers
to 4G.
This sudden change has been highlighted so much so that the
evolution of smartphones comes into the notice of people. According to Nirmal Singh 3C Company’s view, these
attractive rates are going to fetch the consumers back to the market. It will
definitely boost the growth of smartphones in the market, which has been slowed
lately.
Nirmal Singh 3C Company
also found out brokerage JM Financial’s observation, which says that within
a short span of time the new revenue rates will be levied in the market. As per
the revised rates, the tariff will reduce to 50 per cent from 142 to 95 rupees.
The competition is definitely going to give a blow to other cellular companies.
At the same time the rates of Jio 4G services have also been
revised making the plan expensive, by reducing the validity of its famous Rs
309 prepaid plan to two months from three months and it has also reduced the
data from 56GB to 84GB.
According to Rajan Mathews, director general of the Cellular
Operators Association of India (COAI), "Any stabilisation in retail
tariffs is helpful for the industry. However, it would be premature to say the
price wars have come to an end. The market is still hyper competitive and it
will take another three to four quarters to determine if real price stability
has returned."
Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) represents
brands like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and Jio.
There will be more changes in the plans of Jio
in the coming days; therefore consumers can expect either a pleasant surprise a
blow of shock.
