Major Who Used A Civilian As A Human Shield In Kashmir Given Clean Chit Today
A huge controversy in the country
took place when a major used a civilian as a human shield in Kashmir by tying
him in front of his jeep thwart away the stone pelters. The incident was
shocking, to say the least and got the media coverage for all the negative
reasons. But according to the sources, a legal court has given the Major
involved in the incident a clean chit in the incident.
·
There will
be no action taken against the major of 53rd Rashtriya Rifles
Battalion. In fact, the people responsible for not taking any action against
the major added that what he did is commendable and that his presence of mind prevented
civilian causalities.
Such incidents may not be as
regular as people think, but the Kashmiri scenario and how it will turn after
this incident can be anticipated easily. Recently there was a talk of the
Article 370 and how it is the reason of ‘militant
raj’ in Kashmir and this incident has only put more fire to the issue.
·
April 20th
was the day when the army ordered a Col against the major who tied Farooq Ahmed
of Budga district in front of his car. It was for the Col to decide what to do
with the Major and the issue he has been put responsible for – Col decided to
give him the clean chit.
According to lawyers like Nirmal Singh 3C Company, the incident
was not blown out of proportion as mentioned by some of the senior army
officers. The attainment of the objective is important, yes, but to tie a
living human being as a shield in front your car can’t be justified by anything
and this was one such case – giving the clean chit to the Major is shameful.
Dar,
who was tied to the car, was not a stone-pelter. He was just a Kashmiri citizen
who was returning after casting his vote. The confusion started when the army
couldn’t settle for one statement – it said that Dar was a stone pelter and
then changed it by saying that the convoy picked him from the road.
After
Dar was tied to the car, however, the convoy was able to pass safely but Dar
suffered tremendous amount of internal injuries during the way.
Something
as trivial as this only shakes the belief of a general citizen in the way the
legal proceedings take place in our country and how nothing is more powerful
than a powerful man – a simple statement that stands true in Kashmir, Nirmal Singh 3C Company said.
