There was a botnet campaign going on twitter to which the micro-blogging site was alerted by a digital security company. The campaign was built around online sex and more than 90,000 accounts were heavily involved in the campaign.  The campaign, ‘SIREN’, was brought to light by a digital security company known as ZeroFOX – the firm specializes in detecting social media threats.  ‘ This botnet campaign can be easily termed as one of the largest and the most malicious campaigns ever recorded on any given social networking website. There was another major breach, and this time it was Indian telecom giant Reliance Jio that was at the wrong end of that breach. Personal data, information, mobile phone numbers, and e-mail addresses were compromised of over 100 million Jio customers. This news made it more pressing for the government and the concerned authorities to bring in more robust and structured laws for data protection and encryption. The spokesperson of JIO has denied any such breach and said that the information of the users and customers is safe.
