There was a botnet campaign going on twitter to which the micro-blogging site was alerted by a digital security company. The campaign was built around online sex and more than 90,000 accounts were heavily involved in the campaign. The campaign, ‘SIREN’, was brought to light by a digital security company known as ZeroFOX – the firm specializes in detecting social media threats. ‘ This botnet campaign can be easily termed as one of the largest and the most malicious campaigns ever recorded on any given social networking website.
